Guilford County School:
Guilford County Schools serve all of Greensboro, High Point, Jamestown, Summerfield, Gibsonville, Whitsett, McLeansville, Browns Summit, and Oak Ridge communities. GCS is the third largest school system in North Carolina serving over 72,000 students in 127 schools. There are over 40 magnet school options that offer everything from Science, Technology, Engineering and Math to performing or visual arts, advanced academics, Spanish immersion, health sciences or aviation. There are 69 elementary school, 23 middle school, 26 high school and 9 alternative schools in the Guilford County School district. The traditional school calendar begins on August 24, 2015.Back to School Supply List:

School Dress Code Information:
Every school is different, but there is some general rules that every school in Guilford County follows. These guidelines can be found in the school handbook on the schools homepage. Some schools do have a Standard Mode of Dress (SMOD). The current list of schools that follow SMOD can be found at the Guilford County School website. Each school has different criteria. Generally it is khaki bottom (pants, skirts or shorts) and a collared shirt. Some schools are specific in the color shirts that are allowed. Please check directly with your school to find out their policy.
